Questions about brand photography for your grooming business

Do I need to close my salon for the photography session?

Not necessarily. In many cases photographing a real working day gives us some of the most natural and useful images. We will discuss how your salon normally operates and plan the session in a way that causes as little disruption as possible. If there are particular photographs that need a quieter environment, we can build those into the plan.

Do I need to tidy or prepare the salon beforehand?

A little preparation can help, but you do not need to make your salon look like a showroom. Before the session I will help you think about the areas we are likely to photograph and anything worth moving or preparing. The aim is for the space to look like the best version of your real salon, not somewhere your customers would never recognise.

There is a full guide to preparing your salon for a photography session.

How long does a typical session take?

Session length will depend on the package and the amount of content we are creating. This will always be discussed before booking so you know how much time to allow and how the photography can fit around your day.

How many dogs should I have available?

That depends on the type of images we want to create. We can discuss the dogs you have booked and whether there are particular coat types, breeds or personalities that would work well for the session. Quality is more important than trying to photograph as many dogs as possible.

What happens if a dog will not sit still?

That is completely normal. Dogs are dogs, and I am used to working with them in a grooming environment. Not every photograph needs a perfectly posed dog looking into the camera. Some of the best images can come from natural interaction and movement. Animal welfare always comes first and no dog will be forced to pose for the sake of a photograph.

Do I have to be in the photographs myself?

No, but I would encourage you to consider including yourself in at least some of them. Your customers are trusting a person with their pet, so showing the person behind the business can be a powerful way to build familiarity and trust. If you feel uncomfortable being photographed, tell me. We can make it relaxed and keep the focus natural rather than creating formal poses.

How many edited images will I receive?

This will depend on the package you choose. The number of final edited images and exactly what is included will be agreed before you book, so there are no surprises later.

Can you create social media content using my photographs?

Yes. Rise With Design combines photography with visual design, so depending on your package I can turn your new imagery into branded social media graphics and other content for your business.

Can you work with my existing logo and branding?

Yes. If you already have branding you are happy with, I can work with it rather than replacing it. The aim is to make your photography and content feel consistent with your business.

Can I use the photographs on my website as well as social media?

Yes. Your photographs can be created with multiple uses in mind, including websites, social media, Google profiles and other marketing. We will discuss the intended use before the session so I can make sure we capture a useful variety of images.

Do you offer ongoing monthly content packages?

Yes. Ongoing content options are being developed for groomers who want regular fresh imagery, branded content and creative support. Details will be available as Rise With Design launches.

How far do you travel?

Travel within my local area is included. For locations further afield an additional travel charge may apply. Any travel cost will always be discussed and agreed before booking.

What does it cost?

Rise With Design will offer one off photography and visual branding packages, bespoke projects and ongoing content options. Final package pricing is currently being developed as the first trial projects are completed. If you would like to discuss an early project, get in touch and tell me a little about your business and what you would like help with.
